Code of Conduct
All coaches are required to abide by the OEMHA Coaches Code of Conduct.

Application Form
All coaches (including returning coaches) are required to complete an application form every year.  The OEMHA encourages and supports both parent and non-parent coaches.  Current players who are interested in an opportunity for coach development are also encouraged to register as an Assistant Coach.

Coaching Certification:
Follow this link for details on the coaching levels and certification pathways. Head coaches for U7 and U9 are expected to obtain trained Coach 1 status as part of the Coach 1 pathway. Head coaches for U11 to U18 are expected to obtain trained Coach 2 status as part of the Coach 2 pathway.  It is not necessary to obtain Coach 1 before taking Coach 2.

Procedure
All coach applications will be reviewed by a coach assignment committee. Final decisions regarding what teams will be iced will be made by the OEMHA after player registration is closed and player placement is completed.  If it is determined there are no acceptable coaching applications for a team then the position will be temporarily filled by available OEMHA staff until a coach can be appointed.
