Information for Coaches and Application Form
As part of this application, it is expected that all coaches will help with pre-season sessions, player evaluation, and sort-out sessions as needed based on OEMHA requirements.
All coaches including assistants are required to take certification for Coach 1 (U7 and U9) or Coach 2 (U11, U13, U15, and U18). Local clinics are listed here: https://page.spordle.com/heo/clinics
The cost for coaching courses and the Respect In Sport Activity Leader course will be reimbursed by the association. Send your receipt and proof of completion of the course to treasurer@oemha.ca.

Code of Conduct
All coaches are required to abide by the OEMHA Coaches Code of Conduct.
Application Form
All coaches (including returning coaches) are required to complete an application form every year. The OEMHA encourages and supports both parent and non-parent coaches. Current players who are interested in an opportunity for coach development are also encouraged to register as an Assistant Coach.

Coaching Certification:
All coaches for U7 and U9 are expected to obtain trained Coach 1 status.
All coaches for U11 to U18 are expected to obtain trained Coach 2 status.
It is not necessary to obtain Coach 1 before taking Coach 2.

Rowan’s Law
Fulfill the requirements of Rowan's Law (Concussion Awareness). You must read certain documents and sign the acknowledgement form (PDF, or Word). Further info here: http://oemha.ca/page.php?page_id=117847
Procedure
All coach applications will be reviewed by a coach assignment committee. Final decisions regarding what teams will be iced will be made by the OEMHA after player registration is closed and player placement is completed. If it is determined there are no acceptable coaching applications for a team then the position will be temporarily filled by available OEMHA staff until a coach can be appointed.
