Novice Evaluations - Update for September 17-20

Hi Everyone:
Here is the plan for the rest of this week. Sorry for the long email but there is a lot to cover.
Groupings and Playing Times (Please note the arena)
The following group will play Thursday at 6 PM, September 18th at St Laurent arena and has an optional powerskating session on September 20 at 7AM at Sandy Hill:
Group D Red:
Group D Black
The following group will play Friday, September 19 at 6 PM at St Laurent arena and will have an optional powerskate on September 21 at 7AM at Sandy Hill arena with Group F:
Group E Red
Group E Black
Group F
The following Group will be playing at exhibition game on September 20 at 8 AM (Opponent TBD, hopefully) and have an optional powerskate on September 21 at 7AM at Sandy Hill with Group E.
There is one additional ice time this weekend September 21 at 11AM at Sandy Hill. Players needing to attend this session will be notified by website and email on Saturday afternoon.

- The groups (Groups B and C) that were identified to play on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week are still the same, however, new groups (D, E, F) have been formed for Thursday, Friday and the weekend. Your child may be in more than one group so please check carefully.
- Note for those playing this Tuesday (Group B)– we have the ice from 6 to 8 pm so anyone who wants to stay on the ice, can stay until the coach calls the game.
- We are planning to have 5 teams of 12-13 players on each team. Its expected that 3-4 new players will join this week or next to bring up the numbers to five teams.
- The groupings below are not the final teams but we are getting closer to assigning the level for each player (A,B,or C). That should be complete by Saturday or Sunday so that we can balance out the teams early next week. Please send me any special car pooling or friend requests. I'll try to accommodate them where players are at the same level but priority is to balance the teams.
- Part of determining the level, is determining the number of teams at each level we need to decide on 3 C teams and 1 B team versus 2 Cs and 2 Bs. We had 2 of each last year and weren't competitive (i.e., the B and C teams only won 7 times during the regular season while losing over 50 games). As most Leaf fans will tell you, winning isn't everything, but it does make the season more enjoyable to be at least be competitive. We'll determine our level break down once the rest of Bytown determines theirs by Friday.
- If there is player in Group D that wants to play goalie, let me know and I will get you the equipment.
- If you can't make it, let me know.
- As usual, we need volunteers. Please report to the piney table and I can assign you a task – don’t be shy!
- We are still looking for head coaches or associate coaches – talk to me if you are interested.
