OEMHA 4on4 Spring Hockey 2025

The ever-popular OEMHA Spring 4on4 is back! 

General Information:

• 8 sessions running April to early June
• Open to players in the U7 to U18 age groups
• No checking for all ages
• Non-stop hockey with no drills and no coaching
• Girls-only dedicated timeslots

Cost: 

• Skaters: $170 (includes HST)
  Goaltenders: $50 (includes HST)
  (Plus insurance fee, if applicable)

• Please note that refunds are not guaranteed after April 1st, 2025.

Schedule - overview (this is a high level overview which may be subject to change based on ice availability and sorting):

Volunteers: The spring 4on4 program runs on volunteers - convenors play an important role in ensuring teams are balanced each week and that there are volunteers to run the clocks, doors and be on the ice to ref. Convenors will be reimbursed the fees for one player following the completion of the program. 

Format:
OEMHA 4on4 Spring Hockey delivers an opportunity for all players to enjoy a challenging and exciting game of hockey.  The 4 on 4 format opens the ice to create a fast paced style of hockey that is different from the regular season.  4 players per side provides the opportunity for kids to get creative and generates lots of breakaway action. The format encourages players to develop their skating, passing, puck handling and shooting skills. Goalies see lots of shots, too!  No drills and no coaching.

• All games are run-time.

• Each game will consist of a 2 minute warm‐up followed by a 48 minute run-time game.

• Line changes occur every 90 seconds. A buzzer will sound to announce the change.

Those born in 2017 to 2019 will play half-ice games.  Those born in 2016 and earlier will play full-ice.

Body checking is not permitted at any level.

All players are required to bring a white jersey and a black /dark blue jersey to every game.

Goaltenders who register for the OEHMA Spring 4on4 will pay only $50. This is a great opportunity to get more ice time and face more shots. Priority access to play bonus games to cover for goalie absences is at NO ADDITIONAL COST. 100% ice time guarantee (only one goalie will be accepted per team).

Team Balancing:  Convenors will use information provided during registration (level played during the 2024-25 season) to create teams of equal skill level at the start of the season. During each session, each team will be evaluated by coordinators and staff. Balancing moves will be made in order to ensure all teams are as equal as possible.

Hockey Canada Insurance Fee: This additional fee is only applicable to players who did NOT play in a Hockey Canada sanctioned league this past season (2024-25). Please select the option to add insurance at time of registration (cost is $25) as it is mandatory.  Players who are currently registered within the OEMHA or OGHA are already insured by Hockey Canada and therefore are not required to pay the additional Hockey Canada insurance fee.
